Flat roofing
What is cold liquid flat roofing?
Liquid roofing is applied as a liquid and cures to one seamless, flexible sheet, with no hot works.
Liquid roofing is an ideal material for flat roofs because it answers many of the problems flat roofs face. The most common is water leakage: flat roofs present a large surface where rainwater can pool. They also go through a lot of thermal movement as they freeze and thaw through the year, which can cause cracking, and limited ventilation can lead to defects and detached materials.
These issues are common, but they do not mean you should have to keep replacing your flat roof. That is why we suggest cold liquid flat roofing.
How it works
Liquid roofing is applied to the surface as a liquid, then spread over the whole area to create a sealed finish. It is called "cold" because it is an alternative to hot-work methods, where welding, cutting, grinding, soldering, brazing or torching are needed to apply the roof.
The benefits
- One solid sheet rather than overlapped or joined materials, forming a seamless bond with the roof structure.
- Can be applied directly over a wide variety of surfaces, so it suits overlays to existing roofs as well as full replacements, and can restore the waterproofing of an existing roof and extend its life.
- Flexible, so it withstands natural roof movement without breaking.
- Versatile: on a complex roof the liquid reaches every detail that other materials cannot.
- Slightly permeable so vapour can escape, and solar reflective to reduce heat stress on the roof.
