Flat roofing

What are the advantages of using EPDM?

EPDM is a durable synthetic rubber membrane. Five reasons to consider it for your roof.

EPDM is a synthetic material derived from oil and natural gas that forms a durable rubber used as a roofing membrane. Its popularity has grown over the years, and here is why you should consider it.

1. Eco-friendly

EPDM is made from recycled material, so it is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Its good insulation properties also help keep buildings warm and cool, using less energy.

2. Low maintenance

EPDM has a long lifespan, so you will not need to replace it any time soon, and maintenance and repair are limited.

3. Weather resistant

EPDM does not degrade in heavy weather and withstands intense heat and cold. It expands and contracts with temperature so it will not crack, and as a rubber it is waterproof.

4. Cuts costs

The starting cost can be higher than traditional roofing, but its durability, insulation and long lifespan all reduce costs over the life of the roof.

5. Installation

EPDM is mainly used on flat roofs because a single sheet can be laid, so seals and joints are not needed. The lightweight material can also be shaped to fit roof contours.

We supply and install EPDM roofs for all types of property, as well as more traditional roofing materials.
